In uncertain times, smart money looks for three things:
𝟭) Demand that does not depend on the mood of the market.
𝟮) Work that cannot easily be automated.
𝟯) A business that funds itself from the profit.
This business offers all three.

▸ 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 $𝟳𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬. FY2026 adjusted earnings for one working owner, shown as PEBITDA (proprietor's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation).
▸ 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. On the full price, before tax.
▸ 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. Sales have almost doubled since FY2022, and the earnings margin has lifted from 17% to 27% of sales. Located in the growing South West corridor, the business is well positioned for that growth to continue.
▸ 𝗢𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀. You manage, quote and schedule; a small team of 7, led by a supervisor, does the work.
▸ 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆. No weekend trading.
▸ 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱. Around $250,000 of jobs on the books, typically three to four weeks ahead.
▸ 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄. Premises with spare capacity; new lease, term negotiable to suit the buyer.

When a vehicle needs repair, it has to be repaired to stay on the road. IBISWorld notes that demand in this industry does not typically fluctuate significantly with consumer sentiment or household discretionary income.

It is also skilled, physical work done from purpose-fitted premises. As artificial intelligence reshapes office and service jobs, Jobs and Skills Australia projects employment growth in the occupations least exposed to automation, particularly the trades. Work like this is difficult to replace with software, and it cannot be delivered from overseas.
Finally, the cash cycle works in the owner's favour.
Customers pay within 7 days, while suppliers are paid 30 days from the end of the month, so supplier terms carry a large part of the working capital rather than the buyer's own cash.

Growth here has come from reputation, not advertising.
The seller advises that most work arrives through word of mouth from satisfied customers and through long-standing relationships, and that the business has spent almost nothing on marketing for years: $1,011 in FY2026.
What it has done well is run tightly.
Gross margin reached 56% in FY2026, and wages ran at 21% of sales against an industry figure of around 24%.
Industry-specific cloud job management software, integrated with Xero, records every job from first enquiry to final invoice, so the knowledge sits in the system rather than in the owner's head.

The owner's day is quoting, ordering, scheduling and signing off finished work. A supervisor runs the floor, and the qualified team carries out the work.
The earnings shown already allow $89,600 including super for an employed administrator, as the owner's wife currently manages the administration.
A couple or business partners who share the management and office roles would keep that wage as well. An investor who would rather not work in the business at all could employ a manager at around $155,000 including super and still see a return of approximately 39%.
The owner will spend four weeks handing over, with full training in the systems.

Earnings that repay the purchase, and a business you can sell again.
That is the real power of this opportunity, and it shows over time.
On the illustration in the information pack, FY2026 earnings would cover the repayments on a loan for the entire price about 3.3 times, leaving the owner-operator around $488,700 a year after repayments, before tax. ( photo summary in images )
The loan is cleared out of the business's own earnings.
Sell after five years at the same 50% return, and an owner-operator would have received about $2.99 million before tax, counting the annual surpluses and the sale proceeds left after paying out the loan.
Hold for ten years, loan fully repaid, and the figure is about $6.29 million.
Under management, the equivalent figures are about $2.22 million and $4.74 million.
NOTE -𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 EXAMPLE ONLY- It is not a forecast, and not an offer or indication of finance. It assumes the full price including SAV (approx. $1,405,000) is borrowed with nil deposit over 10 years at 9% a year (repayments of about $213,576 a year), earnings stay at the FY2026 level, and the business is sold at the same 50% return ($1,405,000). Figures are before income tax, selling costs, capital expenditure and working capital. Lenders set their own terms and deposit and security. Actual results may be materially higher or lower, and buyers should obtain independent financial, accounting and legal advice.

Everything above has been achieved without the growth levers most owners pull first.
A new owner could:
▸ 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 for the first time in years, through a website, social media and online reviews, aimed at direct customers who are quoted by the business itself.
▸ 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀, which the current owners have not actively pursued.
▸ 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 the premises already have, without relocating.
▸ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Eligible employers taking on a new apprentice in a priority automotive trade may access the Commonwealth Priority Hiring Incentive of $2,500 and the Jobs and Skills WA Employer Incentive of up to $8,500, subject to eligibility at the time.

The business sits in one of the fastest-growing parts of regional Western Australia, inside the fastest-growing state in the country.
More people means more vehicles on South West roads, and an established business is well placed to benefit.
▸ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. The South West population reached 201,659 in 2024, and regional planning documents identify the need to plan for 300,000 by 2050.
▸ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. WA recorded the fastest population growth of any state in 2024- 25, at approximately 2.2%.
▸ 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀. WA's fleet of 2,621,125 vehicles grew 3.65% in the year to January 2025, the fastest of any state, and the average WA vehicle is 12.4 years old against 11.5 nationally.
▸ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀. WA dwelling approvals reached 24,544 in the year to January 2026, the highest level in four years.
